While most 3-year-olds were sporting their freshest new pair of sneakers as back-to-school season began, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter, Suri, kicked the toddler footwear trend up a notch with a pair of silver peeptoe heels in September 2009. Young Suri debuted the look while strolling around Boston, shopping with her mom, but soon took the trend overseas to Spain with pale pink Mary Jane heels and golden strappy-heeled sandals. “She loves my high heels,” Holmes said of the inspiration behind the trend her tiny tot started. “They are actually
ballroom dancing shoes for kids… I found them for her and
she loves them.”
