The Nintendo 3DS release was expected, but that hasn’t put a damper on the excitement for the new console, which touts three-dimensional, portable gaming without the need for special glasses. The 3DS includes developments in graphics and enhanced effects and can interact with nearby consoles even when the machine is off. It also has two front-facing cameras that can snap 3-D pictures. An added bonus: A new Zelda game will be available on the 3DS, as the much-adored hero Link returns with Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
