Stars with Art Collections

This weekend the Smithsonian American Art opens an exhibition of Norman Rockwell’s work from the private collections of two major American filmmakers, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Their Rockwell pieces may be notable, but they aren't the only celebrities with a taste for fine art.

Steven Spielberg (Norman Rockwell)

Spielberg's "The Flirts" is one of the quintessential Rockwell paintings in the Smithsonian exhibition.

George Lucas (Norman Rockwell)

Lucas's "First Trip to the Beauty Shop" is another one of the works being displayed at the Smithsonian through January 2011.

Brad Pitt (Jean Nouvel)

Maybe Nouvel, a renowned architect, doesn't constitute "collectable artist," but Pitt is a well-known fan of his work, and even named his daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Pitt, after the man. Pitt also collect works by other artists and designers.
