Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

When you have famous friends like George Clooney and Meryl Streep—and are as charming as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt—your wedding is bound to make headlines. The Young Victoria star donned a custom cream chiffon sweetheart Marchesa gown that included an embroidered “I Do” when she wed The Office actor in Lake Como, Italy, July 10. “It was an outdoor ceremony and absolutely beautiful,” an insider told Us Weekly of the affair, held at the Villa d'Este. Clooney, who met Krasinski on the set of Leatherheads, was in attendance, as was Streep, who starred alongside Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada and Krasinski in It’s Complicated. The 30-year-old funnyman proposed to Blunt last year with a three-carat diamond-and-platinum ring designed by Neil Lane, valued at $100,000. “She did cry after I cried and we cried and then everyone around us was crying,” Krasinski said of the proposal. “Then, I think people weren’t really sure what was going on, but they were crying because we were crying. But it was great. At the end of the day she said yes, which is great.”

Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood tied the knot with NHL player Mike Fisher July 10 in what their wedding planner called “a spiritual expression of their love.” The reigning country star and Ottawa Senators hockey hunk wed at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Georgia in front of 250 friends and family. “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” Underwood and Fisher told People magazine. The ceremony featured the couple’s favorite Bible readings and classical music and Underwood walked down the aisle in a Chantilly lace and silk organza gown by Monique Lhuillier, who also designed the cocktail dress she later changed into. “The wedding dress was huge,” the country queen told People. “I wanted to get my boogie on, so I had to change.” Not to be left out of the full-glitz affair, her dog Ace donned a Swarovski crystal pink tuxedo for his walk down the aisle. “He looked so handsome,” the newlywed said.

Carrie Prejean & Kyle Boller

Controversial 23-year-old beauty queen Carrie Prejean, who was stripped of her Miss California USA crown after voicing opposition to same-sex marriage, tied the knot July 2 to—big surprise—a man, Oakland Raiders quarterback Kyle Boller. For the swanky affair, which was held at the Grand Del Mar Resort in San Diego, Prejean wore a $6,500 Ines Di Santo gown, while Boller donned a Zegna tuxedo. The pair, who met just a year ago, left the reception in a Rolls-Royce. Congratulations to her on her opposite-sex wedding!

Jenna Fischer & Lee Kirk

For The Office star Jenna Fischer, marrying screenwriter and director James Gunn didn’t work out—after about seven years together, she divorced him. But that didn’t stop Fischer from marrying yet another screenwriter this summer. According to Fischer’s publicist, she married Lee Kirk July 3 in Malibu before family and friends. Rainn Wilson, Fischer’s costar on The Office, wrote on Twitter that it was “the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever experienced.” A year before her wedding, Fischer told People that, aside from family and friends, the most important part of the ceremony would be food. “I’m a foodie,” she said, “so I want to have really good food.” Hopefully, Fischer thought it was the most delicious wedding she ever experienced.

Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem

Although A-list actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem managed to keep their relationship under wraps for a while after they began dating in 2007, their love is no longer a secret. The Spanish-born stars, who reportedly met while filming one of her first films Jamon, Jamon in 1992, wed in early July in a small ceremony at a friend’s Bahamian home. Only their closest friends and family were on hand to see them unite in holy matrimony. Cruz wore a custom Dior Haute Couture gown from John Galliano, her longtime friend. While Bardem and Cruz starred alongside one another nearly two decades after their initial meeting in 2008’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona, they stayed tight-lipped about their romance. “He’s a friend and the best actor in the world,” Cruz said coyly at the time of Bardem, her partner both on-screen and, now, in real life.

Mena Suvari & Simone Sestito

Hopefully, the second time’s a charm for American Beauty actress Mena Suvari, who wed her boyfriend of two years on June 27 in a private chapel in Rome. The location was particularly close to home for the groom, Italian-Canadian concert promoter Simone Sestito, whom Suvari met at the 2007 Toronto Film Festival. Afterward, the festivities moved on to Castello Odescalchi, the 15th-century castle nearby where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got married. The couple called the locale “ the true city of romance,” adding, “to be able to wed in the Eternal City is all we could have asked for on this occasion.” The wedding was personalized for the pair, with Sestito designing their wedding bands and a first dance to an original dedication from the Gipsy Kings. Suvari, who is also known for her role in the American Pie franchise, ended her first marriage to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, who was 17 years her senior, in 2005 after five years together.

Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green

After their two-year engagement was called off in 2009, former 90210 star Brian Austin Green proposed to Transformers actress Megan Fox a second time on June 1 at the Four Seasons Hualalai Hotel on Big Island in Hawaii, at which point Fox reportedly dropped the two-carat ring she had been given in the sand. "I saw a half dozen staff sifting through the sand," a source told Us Weekly of the incident. "Security and maintenance staff spent a couple of hours looking for it. No one found it." Despite the ring issue, on June 24, the couple married in a private ceremony, with only six people attending. During their first engagement, Green told the magazine, “Originally, we were talking elopement and now we might have a few people there.” Eventually, they did decide to keep the ceremony small, with Green’s son acting as their only witness and Fox donning an Armani Prive gown. "They were beyond happy, and they seemed so comfortable," a friend of the couple's told People. "They decided a long time ago that they belonged with each other."

Calista Flockhart & Harrison Ford

It was a civil affair for Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford, who were married at the governor’s mansion in New Mexico on June 15. Governor and former presidential candidate Bill Richardson, a longtime friend of couple’s, presided over the ceremony, and because he wasn’t ordained, Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Daniels made the marriage official. The couple had been together for almost eight years, after meeting at the 2002 Golden Globes. Ford proposed to Flockhart on Valentine’s Day weekend in 2009. The Indiana Jones actor has four children from two previous marriages and Flockhart has a son, Liam, whom she adopted in 2001. It looks like two decades cannot keep these two apart.

Gemma Arterton & Stefano Catelli

Former Bond girl and Prince of Persia star Gemma Arterton got away with a secret wedding—the way any former Bond girl would—to Italian businessman Stefano Catelli on June 5. The two were married in the town of Zuheros in Andalucia, located in the hills of southern Spain. Witnesses said that Arterton stroked Catelli’s cheek “as they made their vows.” A smitten Arterton previously told the Daily Mail, “I just really want to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s an amazing man.”

Rush Limbaugh & Kathryn Rogers

Conservative firebrand Rush Limbaugh said “I do” to Kathryn Rogers, a direct descendant of President John Adams, on June 5. But the pairing that had people talking was Limbaugh’s choice of Sir Elton John as a wedding singer. Lest you think love had altered Rush’s politics, Limbaugh and Rogers were married by Ken Hutcherson, a pastor and former Dallas Cowboys player who has campaigned against gay marriage. So maybe the voice of all things right-wing is just a fan of “Candle in the Wind.” As for Elton, his longtime partner David Furnish told People magazine, “Life is about building bridges, not walls.” Also in attendance were Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, James Carville, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and 50 security guards.

Jane Lynch & Lara Embry

It’s been a wonderful summer for the actress who plays Glee’s cheertator, Jane Lynch. Besides earning an Emmy nomination for her hilarious portrayal of Sue Sylvester, Lynch married her girlfriend, Dr. Lara Embry, a clinical psychologist, on May 31 in Sunderland, Massachusetts. Their friend Jeannie Elias, who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated at the intimate ceremony. Lynch also became a mom to Embry’s 8-year-old daughter Haden and 10-year-old son Chase, who were among the 19 guests in attendance. During their vows, The New York Times reports, Lynch promised “to be the very best parent I can be,” as well as “to do my best to get her iCarly tickets,” in reference to Haden, with whom she danced with at the reception to “Vogue,” a song Lynch performed on the series. The couple met at a San Francisco fundraiser in May 2009 and have a picture of their initial encounter. “I said, ‘I want my picture taken with her,’” Embry recalled to the Times. “I thought she was cute.” Lynch added to People, “It’s just the greatest thrill in the world to find somebody that you want to be with every day.”

Alanis Morissette & Mario Treadway

It did not rain on Alanis Morissette’s wedding day, which is a little too ironic—don’t you think? On May 22, just a week before the ‘90s pop icon’s 36th birthday, she married fellow artist Souleye (whose real name is Mario Treadway). According to People magazine, the ceremony was held at the couple’s Los Angeles home in front of a small group of family and friends. Morissette, writing to her fans on Twitter, put it this way: “So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other.” We can only hope their guests got them 10,000 spoons, because all they need is a knife.
