1. JUNGLE JUICE

This one might be a little tricky for spontaneous partiers, since it tastes best after sitting overnight. With nearly 70 mL of alcohol per 16-oz. serving, the Jungle can be a scary place, indeed.

1 L Everclear Alcohol
5.25 L (3 1.75L bottles) vodka
1 bottle peach schnapps
1 pint Bacardi 151 rum
1 bottle 99 Apples apple schnapps
10 L Sprite
1 L Sunny Delight orange juice
1 L triple sec
1.75 L bottle gin
1 bottle DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
4 bottles Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill wine
8 L Hawaiian Punch
2 containers orange juice concentrate
fresh fruit (up to your discretion)

Use a large container—like a cauldron or cooler—and allow the fruit to soak in all the alcohol for about four hours. Add all the juice and let it sit overnight. Serve it the next day.

Total Alcohol Per Serving (16 oz. party cup): 69.666 mL

2. THE FISHBOWL

The perfect drink for sitting on the beach, since all the refills are right there in the bowl. The hard-candy taste comes from mixing two different types of alcohol.

750 ml Absolut Mango
5-6 cans of Sierra Mist soda

Mix it all in a large clear bowl and throw in plenty of bendy straws. It should taste just like a blue Jolly Rancher.

7. FLAMING LIQUID COCAINE BLASTER

If there’s a drink that feels more like drugs than alcohol, Flaming Liquid Cocaine Blaster has that dubious honor. Make sure you know your fire exits, as the “flaming” part isn't just a clever name.

½ oz. Bacardi 151 rum
½ oz. Jagermeister herbal liqueur
½ oz. Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps
8 oz. can of Red Bull energy drink

Layer all three half shots on top of one another, making sure to float the 151 on top. Ignite. Drop into a glass filled with Red Bull and down the hatch.

8. HAND GRENADE

One of New Orleans’ proud traditions: Tropical Isle on Bourbon Street debuted this drink at the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. The Hand Grenade has been called “the strongest drink on Bourbon Street,” and one drink is the equivalent of four and a half servings of a regular alcoholic beverage.

Feels just like an ice-cream headache, minus the ice cream.

1 oz. vodka
1 oz. coffee liqueur
1 oz. soda water
lime wedge for garnish

Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur over the ice in a glass, fill with the soda water, garnish with a lime, and insert a straw. Suck the drink out of the straw in one shot.

10. FLAMING DR. PEPPER

A favorite of lad-lit godfather Tucker Max, who tried it in Austin and said, “I’ll be damned if it doesn’t taste exactly like Dr Pepper.”

¾ shot amaretto almond liqueur
¼ oz. Bacardi 151 rum
½ glass beer

Fill shot glass about ¾ full with amaretto and top it off the 151. Place the shot glass in a larger glass and fill the outer glass with beer, right up to the level of the shot glass. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a bit, then blow it out and drink.

Total Alcohol Per Serving (approx. 14 oz., combining shot glass + larger glass): 18 mL
