Last year it was all about pink hair. Now, celebrities are starting to look a whole lot older. From Rihanna and Nicole Richie to Lady Gaga and Kate Moss, see the list of stars who dyed their hair gray.

Rihanna

Rihanna debuted her gray hair-do via Instagram, describing the new look in the photo's caption as being "ice gray ish," calling it #Brrr. "Gray is the new black!," she commented.

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie shocked the fashion world with the risqué gray up-do she rocked at the 2013 Costume Institute Gala for the "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" exhibition at the Met.

Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne shocked audiences when she showed up at the People’s Choice Awards rocking a full set of gray tresses. Next was the Golden Globes, where Osbourne’s hair seemed to be an even lighter shade of gray. According to Yahoo News, Sharon Osbourne is less than thrilled with her daughter’s hair choice. “This is the woman who made me who I am today, and she questions it,” said Kelly in response. “I don’t understand.”

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has played with off shades of her usually blonde locks for years, but nothing was more ashen than her look for the 2009 Academy of Country Music awards, where she sported a silver hue.

Kate Moss

Kate Moss’s hair was briefly adorned with blue-gray highlights and shaped into a short pixie cut. At first glance, it looks like her do might just need a touch-up of blonde hair dye, but Moss, now 38, is a little young to be showing such dramatic gray roots. These gray bits were simply a fashion statement.

Lady Gaga

Nothing Lady Gaga does or wears should shock us anymore, but when she showed up on the cover of Vanity Fair with flowing gray locks, you would have thought she had aged a few years. And yet, this style choice is one of her least radical.

Pink

Rocker chick Pink is a fan of being blonde, with the occasional—can you guess it?—pink highlights. Gray hair was a radical choice, but we kind of dig it. Gray never looked so young on this “Sober” singer.

Kelis

Famed “Milkshake” singer Kelis takes hair color to a new level with this ashy shade. If pink, green, or blue highlights were extreme, try a cropped cut and full gray mane.

Mary-Kate Olsen

Mary-Kate Olsen makes a bold statement with her roots-only gray dye job. Since her days on Full House, Olsen has sported a mostly bright blonde do. Accessorizing her extreme youth with this grandmother-inspired trend was perhaps a drastic attempt to distance herself from twin sister Ashley or simply an evolution of her personal style.

Stacy London

Stacy London started rocking the signature side-swept gray streak before the other ladies on our list. This is because the single ashen lock is, well, natural. Ever since she was a preteen, London has kept her gray piece as a token of her individuality.

Ellie Goulding

The U.K.’s Ellie Goulding of “Lights” fame traded in her sunny curls for a dustier hue in 2010, proving that silver tresses can look extremely youthful.

Pixie Geldof

British model, socialite, and singer Pixie Geldof—daughter of Live Aid impresario Bob Geldof—has an extreme case of trendy tresses. A revolutionary in the Brit fashion world, Geldof sports a silvery color that accessorizes her fashion-forward image.
