Earlier this week we spotted “Part of Me” singer Katy Perry sporting an impressive new ‘do for the cover of L’Officiel. In a look reminiscent of Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, Perry showed off her shoulder-length orange locks (a wig, no doubt) on the cover of the French magazine, thus completing the Katy Perry rainbow of hair colors. While she first gained popularity with her demure dark bob and bangs, her trademark blue wig from the “California Gurls” music video quickly became her most valuable asset. From a fling with yellow to a longer-lasting purple hue, see Perry’s multicolored tresses.

RED

In 2011, Perry briefly experimented with a reddish hue at the launch of her debut fragrance, “Purr.”

YELLOW

Walking the red carpet for The Smurfs in July 2011, the singer, who lent her voice to the animated blue creatures, sported bright yellow—not blond—hair for premiere.

GREEN (ISH)

Although Perry’s full-out goblin green look has been reserved for magazine shoots and advertisements, these emerald roots couldn’t help but attract attention against her blue ponytail extension and darker brown roots at a Miu Miu fashion show in Paris.

BLUE

Indisputably a fan favorite, Perry’s smurf-blue wigs and dye jobs have gained her notoriety as a playful and experimental icon. She’s shown here in a typical bangs-and-waves blue ’do at the 2010 MTV Movie awards.

PURPLE

In a less bubbly, more emo move by the pop princess, Perry arrived at the NARM Music Biz Awards this May in head-to-toe black, albeit witt a pop of purple framing her gothic makeup.

PINK

Completing her Asian-inspired look for the 2011 VMAs, the “I Kissed a Girl” chart-topper stepped onto the red carpet in a Geisha-esque dress and bubblegum pink tresses, carrying an Asian-style umbrella.
