Even beloved Yankee Derek Jeter is not immune from the New York Post’s mean headlines. The tabloid fat-shamed the captain this week with a front page declaring him “Derek Eater” after a pudgy-looking Jeter was photographed in South Beach, where he is rehabbing an injury from October. “The ankle we knew about,” the Post quipped. “The gut, not so much.” But the team’s general manager, Brian Cashman, defended his once-svelte shortstop: “You’re not gonna find anyone more committed to being the best he can be than Derek Jeter,” Cashman told the paper.
