There's lips licking lipstick and artistic pubic hair. IDOLIZE, a "cutting edge platform for the intersection of art, fashion, and design," has commissioned five international artists—Cope/Arnold, Romulo Sans, Alberto Maria Colombo, Sean Augustine March, and Ben Duggan/Jake Lamagno—for a multimedia exhibit coinciding with Art Basel Miami Beach. Founded by Siliva Mella, IDOLIZE aims to nourish young talent in the fashion, design, art, music, and entertainment spheres by attracting consumers to their unique artistic platforms. For its first exhibit, Mella selected the aforementioned artists because of "their distinct and elegant nature, and avant garde, and sometimes irreverent, content." Milan-born Colombo, for example, looks at beauty and sexuality through a romantic lens, producing a series of images that feature elegantly crafted pubic hair, while Romulo Sans, who hails from Barcelona, utilizes his fashion-trained eye to create playful yet culturally aware pieces. Together, the different works create a stylistically-driven exhibit that emphasizes the beauty, fashion, and design elements that exist within our culture.
The exhibit is on display through December 8 at the I D O L I Z E pop-up space in the Miami Design District at BOFFI Design Studios, 3800 NE 2nd Avenue, 2nd Floor.
