The family of a fallen U.S. serviceman on Monday received a $25,000 check from President Donald Trump, a week after they told The Washington Post that Trump had promised the check then failed to deliver, North Carolina's ABC 11 reports. The Baldridge family, whose son Dillon died in Afghanistan in June, told the Post last week that Trump had called them after Dillon's death and told them he was writing them a $25,000 check after hearing of their struggles. The check never came, Dillon’s father told the Post. The Baldridges received the long-promised check on Monday, ABC 11 reports. The check, which was FedExed from Trump’s New York address, was dated Oct. 18, the day of the Post story.
