The 81-year-old GOP researcher who ventured on a quest to obtain Hillary Clinton’s emails from Russian hackers allegedly had help from alt-right activist Chuck Johnson, according to a new Politico report. Private-equity executive Peter Smith—who died in May—sought to obtain the 33,000 emails deleted by Hillary Clinton, so he allegedly enlisted Johnson and his former business partner Pax Dickinson in his mission. Johnson still has multiple ties to the White House but was banned from Twitter in 2015 for promoting an effort to “take out” a Black Lives Matter activist. Ultimately Smith failed in his efforts.
