North Korean heir apparent Kim Jong Eun got an embarrassing surprise on his birthday: hackers had taken over the official Twitter account of the country's leadership and begun describing the new heir as a sworn enemy of Kim Jong Il, the current dictator, and calling for a popular uprising to unseat both of them. By the time the mischief was over, the pranksters had Tweeted to the account's 10,000-plus followers about the North Korean leader's wild spending on nuclear weapons and drinking parties, "while 3 million people are starving and freezing to death." North Korea only allows Internet access to its most privileged citizens, so the hackers were unlikely to break through the country's carefully cultivated cult of the "Dear Leader," whom Pyongyang portrays as a heaven-sent general.
