One person was killed and 22 others injured on Saturday night when a Halloween-themed hay ride lost control and sped down a hill in Maine, crashing into a tree. Authorities say a mechanical problem may have contributed to the accident which killed a 17-year-old girl and critically injured two, a teenage boy and the driver of the Jeep which pulled the wagon. The Jeep apparently missed a turn at the top of the hill. “The trailer jackknifed and the Jeep went off the road,” Androscoggin County Sheriff Guy Desjardins said. “We’re talking about a very narrow dirt road, but extremely steep.”
