Police in Hong Kong will move “within this week” to clear protesters from some sites they have been occupying for more than 50 days—just as a new local poll shows almost 70 percent of the public wants the movement to end. The South China Morning Post reports that police will help implement a court injunction against protesters occupying sites in the city’s Admiralty and Mong Kok districts. A source told the paper the operation would occur mostly between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Even those who have supported the democracy protests now appear to believe it’s time to end it: About 67 percent of all respondents in the poll said protesters should go home.
