Police said on Sunday that five people have confessed in the rape of a Swiss tourist who was camping in central India over the weekend. The woman and her husband were allegedly attacked while vacationing in Madhya Pradesh by a group of about eight or nine men, and police said the woman was raped by four of them. Five people have been detained in the attack, but no one has been formerly arrested. Police said they interrogated up to 20 suspects. The attackers allegedly stole 10,000 rupees, a mobile phone, and a laptop from the victim and her husband, who are on a three-month tourist visa in India. The attack comes just months after the country recovers from the horrifying rape and subsequent death of a 23-year-old student in Delhi.
