In a major victory for the CIA, the Iranian nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri has defected to the U.S., ABC News reports. Amiri disappeared last year during a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, according to the Iranian government, which blamed the U.S. for "kidnapping" him. Now, CIA officials say that the award-winning scientist has been resettled in America. What's unclear is how much knowledge Amiri has of the Iranian nuclear program. He apparently helped the U.S. intelligence community substantiate its suspicions about the Iranian nuclear program, and, according to an Iranian website, he may have worked in a suspected nuclear facility near Qom.
