Secret cables released in Sunday’s WikiLeaks dump revealed several Middle Eastern nations quaking in their boots over Iran’s nuclear weapons, and it looks like someone is doing something about it. Early Monday morning, motorcycle-riding assailants set off separate bomb attacks against two Iranian nuclear physicists, prompting accusations from Iran’s state-run media that the U.S. and Israel were plotting to destroy the country’s capabilities. One of the physicists was killed. The other was wounded, as were the wives of both scientists. Iranian media, which called the attacks terrorism, claimed that one of the scientists worked at the Supreme National Defense Academy, run by the Iranian Army and was heavily involved in the country’s nuclear efforts. The bombings were similar to an attack against another physicist last January, which also involved a remotely detonated car bomb.
