After coming under fire for refusing to launch an international probe into its deadly May 30 confrontation with an aid ship headed for the Gaza Strip, Israel has announced that it will add two high-ranking foreigners to its internal investigation of the flotilla incident. The commission looking into the attack will be spearheaded by retired Israeli Supreme Court justice Yaakov Turkel and will include two sitting foreign observers, Nobel Laureate Lord William David Trimble of Ireland and a retired chief military prosecutor from Canada, Brig. Gen. Ken Watkin. Meanwhile, Amr Moussa, the Arab League's secretary-general, made his first visit to Gaza since it was taken over the by Iranian-backed Islamic resistance group Hamas three years ago, and criticized Israel's three-year Gaza blockade. "The siege must be lifted," he told the media. "All the world is now standing with the people of Palestine and the people of Gaza."
