Israeli soldiers on Tuesday accidentally shot and killed a Palestinian teenager who was on his way home after a night with friends. In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces described the boy, 15-year-old West Bank resident Mahmoud Raafat Badran, as an “uninvolved bystander” who was hit while soldiers were responding to a rock-throwing incident by young Palestinians. The Palestine Liberation Organization characterized the shooting as an “assassination.” Israel has launched an investigation into the incident.
