Istanbul's Ataturk Airport was reopened on Saturday after a military coup the night before brought transportation to a halt. Turkish Airlines said it had resumed flights, though some foreign carriers opted to be more cautious. British Airways halted all flights to Turkey on Saturday, and Lufthansa followed suit, stopping all flights to Istanbul. On Friday, as the coup attempt was underway, 32 flights were canceled and 35 planes diverted.
