Italian Villa Left to City of Boston by Luciano Visocchi

New England just got a new hangout. Instead of leaving his estate to a family member or friend, a man in Italy requested in his will that the city of Boston inherit his acreage. His mother and aunt both lived in Boston, which he has idolized for a lifetime, though there is no record that he ever visited himself. According to an Italian newspaper, the estate is worth roughly $700,000. Luciano Visocchi also asked for Boston to “look after the old dogs Argus and Jak” and to “feed the cat Rossina, easily recognizable from her great size.” Boston's mayor, Thomas Menino, is baffled by the request. “They're over in Italy. What do you want me to do?” Yet the fight could get weirder still: members of Visocchi’s political party are prepping a “war of documents” to reclaim the property, which was originally left to them.
