This is why you need a seventh inning stretch. A Japanese high school baseball game during the 59th National High School Rubber Baseball Tournament lasted 50 innings and took four days to complete. Chukyo High School and Sotoku High School were locked in a pitcher's duel, and the game was scoreless up until the 50th inning. On Sunday morning, Chukyo got some runs on the board and nabbed a 3-0 winn. Chukyo's Taiga Matsui got the win, but both he and Sotoku's Jukiya Ishioka deserve accolades (and a major rest). Both starting pitchers threw the entire game and nearly 1,400 pitches combined.
