Israeli police have closed Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound following an assassination attempt Wednesday. Closure of the site, which Jews call the Temple Mount, was the same as a “declaration of war” according to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The officials closed the site after an assassination attempt on right-wing Jewish activist Yehuda Glick, who was pushing for more Jewish rights on the site.
