Forget about a diamond in the rough, these are diamonds in a drainpipe: Paris police found gems believed to be stolen two years ago from Harry Winston in a drainpipe in the northern suburbs of the city, near the home of robbery’s suspected mastermind. They found a diamond ring, 18 more rings and three earrings in a plastic container inside a concrete mold. Police remained tight-lipped about Monday’s discovery, which had an estimated value of $20.6 million. The jewels were stolen in a December 2008 heist, when four men—three of whom were dressed as women—grabbed the jewels that were valued at roughly $110 million at the time, a value that has substantially dropped since then. The robbery was dubbed the heist of the century.
