Jim Lehrer will no longer be a regular anchor on PBS NewsHour. Starting June 6, he will only continue to appear on the show on some Fridays as moderator for the analysis panel that features Mark Shields and David Brooks. In 2009, the show changed its name to PBS NewsHour and named a multi-anchor team, which included Lehrer. The team performed hosting duties on a rotating basis, which will be maintained after Lehrer steps down. Lehrer will also continue to be involved in the show’s editorial direction. (Correction: The original headline stated Lehrer was leaving the program.)
