John Edwards Awaits His Fate

John Edwards was immoral, but did he break the law? We could find out soon. A recent increase in testimony has fueled speculation that a grand jury could soon indict Edwards for using campaign funds to cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter. The grand jury has been investigating the case for two years. The New York Times says that Edwards, whose lawyer has publicly denied any wrongdoing by his client, would be likely to settle if there were misdemeanor charges but would probably fight any felony charges. It is also possible that no charges could be filed. Edwards has moved back to Chapel Hill with his children since his wife Elizabeth died last year.
