Johnny Manziel's father is exasperated at his son's lack of progress in cleaning up his addiction and partying habits, he said in an interview with ESPN. "I don't know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help," Paul Manziel said. "He just hasn't [sought] it yet. Hopefully he doesn't die before he comes to his senses." He said the system failed his son, who was sent to rehab last year, and worries that Johnny might die before he realizes he needs to seek help. "I hate to say it, but I hope he goes to jail," Paul Manziel added. "I mean, that would be the best place for him." The remarks come a day after Johnny Manziel's attorney accidentally texted an Associated Press reporter, revealing that his legal team is seeking a plea deal for a domestic violence charge and expressing doubt that Manziel can stay clean.
