The Justice Department sent out new policies Wednesday that focus on prosecuting individual employees at corporations that commit white-collar crimes. The rules were sent out in a memo to federal prosecutors throughout the country pressuring corporations to turn in evidence that could implicate their individual employees in cases of wrongdoing. It’s the first major move by new Attorney General Loretta Lynch and addresses criticism that few executives have been punished for the housing crisis and various financial scandals.
