No need to change the succession laws after all. The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Monday, July 22, at 4:24 p.m. The baby weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces at birth. According to the palace, both duchess and baby are doing well and will remain in the hospital overnight. "We could not be happier," Prince William said in a statement. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth, and he will be staying overnight at the hospital with his wife and newborn son. The baby will be the third in line for the throne, behind Prince Charles and Prince William.
