Ken Starr, the accountant whose A-list clients once included Oscar-winner Natalie Portman and Martin Scorsese, has been sentenced to seven and half years in prison for creating a $60 million Ponzi scheme. Starr pleaded guilty in September to wire fraud, money laundering, and investment adviser fraud. He allegedly told his clients he would put their money in low-risk investments, but instead, he invested in risky companies (some of which were owned by his wife) and funneled money into his own personal accounts. In addition to celebrities, Starr also admitted to cheating nine elderly clients out of their money. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 15.
