Kissing Congressman Refuses to Bow Out

Despite House Majority Leader Eric Cantor personally asking him to resign immediately, Louisiana Republican Rep. Vance McAllister says he will not step down. After a video surfaced of him kissing a woman, McAllister admitted he had “fallen short” by having an extramarital affair. “I told him I thought he should resign because in my mind what happened does not meet that higher standard,” Cantor said. There have been no such requests for GOP Rep. Michael Grimm, who was indicted Monday for allegedly underreporting more than $1 million in sales and wages at his restaurant in New York. According to Cantor, Grimm will have to “make his case to his constituents, and he’s going to have to make his case in court.”
