Heather Cho, executive vice president of Korean Air, is being investigated for allegedly exceeding her authority when she ordered a flight manager of the airline off a plane “for poor services.” Her action caused the aircraft, which was carrying some 250 passengers, to be delayed for 12 minutes last Friday as it prepared to take off from New York’s JFK Airport for Incheon Airport in South Korea. Cho was flying first class and yelled at a flight attendant who handed her macadamia nuts in a bag rather than in a dish. Cho called for the purser to check the plane’s service manual; when he failed to locate the guidelines on a tablet PC, she ordered him off the aircraft. Cho, the daughter of airline company boss Cho Yang-ho, was pilloried all over social media for being a “brat.” She resigned from the airline on Tuesday.
