Lawyers representing Salah Abdeslam, the last living suspect from the November 2015 Paris terror attack, said Wednesday they are ditching him because he refuses to talk, in protest of his prison conditions. The attorneys, Frank Berton and Sven Mary, will no longer defend Abdeslam, who is under 24-hour video surveillance, in court. “I’ve been convinced for months that he is isolating and radicalizing himself, he is taking his video surveillance very badly,” Berton said at a press conference. “This is not blackmail, it’s just the reality of his psychological and psychic state. The problem is related to his solitary confinement.” Abdeslam is the only known surviving suspect in the attacks, which killed 130 people. His accomplices were killed in suicide bombings and exchanges of gunfire with police.
