Chuck Noll, the man who coached “Mean” Joe Greene and Franco Harris to Super Bowl victories, passed away Friday night at the age of 82. A Pittsburgh Steelers icon, Noll is the only coach to have won four Super Bowl titles. He led the team to championship wins from 1975 to 1980 and went 209-156-1 during his over 20-year career with the Steelers. When he took over as coach in 1969, the team was coming off of eight straight losing seasons. Art Rooney Jr., the son of the Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr., said "Chuck Noll is the best thing to happen to the Rooneys since they got on the boat in Ireland.” The Allegheny County Medical Examiner in Pennsylvania said Noll died of natural casues at 9:45 p.m. On Friday.
