If everything can be art these days, then so too is the human body. Or so argued a man posing nude in the middle of London’s Trafalgar Square, who said he was trying to become a “living statue.” The man, identified only as Simon, was participating in Antony Gormley’s fourth plinth art project. After mounting the plinth, onlookers say Simon slowly peeled off his t-shirt, pants, and finally underwear. Though he attracted a large audience, the stunt lasted only five minutes, when police caught on and came to collect him. The project organizers reportedly called up to him: “Simon, you’re going to have to put something on or they want you down…. Sorry mate. Some pants or something. Thank you.”
