A long-lost Graham Greene novel will see the light of day when Strand Magazine serializes it, beginning in its July issue. Greene wrote the novel when he was 22, but the handwritten manuscript was only recently discovered by a Greene scholar, and transcribed by a team of people. Greene published short stories in Strand before he died, and the magazine's managing editor, Andrew Gulli, said he felt they were "continuing the tradition" by serializing the novel there. The first chapter entitled, "The Empty Chair," has an Agatha Christie setup, and—as it was written in the year Greene converted to Catholicism—much of the characters discuss religion. It's likely that the transcript will be turned into a novel, and Strand says it's looking for a writer to finish the manuscript.
