Glendon Scott Crawford, a 51-year-old man from upstate New York, was convicted Friday of plotting to attack and kill Muslims with an X-ray device. He could face 25 years to life in prison after his sentencing trial in December. Prosecutors described Crawford as “cold, calculated” and “committed” in his plan to kill Muslims and was recorded by an FBI informant calling Islam an “opportunist infection of DNA” and radiation poisoning “a beautiful thing.” He also described potential targets, an Albany storefront mosque and the New York governor’s mansion.
