Republican businessman Vance McAllister won a special election won Saturday’s runoff in a special election for a House seat in Louisiana. McAllister, a moderate, had the endorsement of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, as well as the members of Louisiana’s congressional delegation. McAllister financed his campaign, but he trailer competitor state senator Neil Riser early after McAllister took the risky position of supporting parts of Obamacare. The special election was for Rep. Rodney Alexander’s seat, who left to work in Bobby Jindal’s administration.
