A fundraiser for John McCain was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of drug charges after Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies discovered an active methamphetamine lab in her Phoenix home. Authorities arrested Emily Pitha, 34, a former staffer for retired U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) who is listed among fundraisers for McCain’s re-election campaign, along with her boyfriend, 36-year-old Christopher Hustrulid. Law-enforcement officials were reportedly first alerted to the alleged operation when they intercepted a package from the Netherlands containing more than 250 grams of raw ecstasy. When detectives executed a search warrant on the home, they reported finding the meth lab, along with LSD, cocaine, heroin, and counterfeit money.
