Mitt Romney has convinced at least one Michigander that he's one of them, and it's perhaps the most important one. Thursday's Detroit News includes an op-ed from governor Rick Snyder, in which he throws his support behind the former Massachusetts governor. Synder appeals to local sentiments, pointing out that "our country has never elected a president born and raised in Michigan. Mitt Romney was born in Detroit. His father served with distinction as governor. Before that, he was president of American Motors." He also argue that "our next president must understand how markets work and know how to get our nation back on track" and that "Mitt Romney is not a career politician. He stands alone among the candidates."
