Melissa Click, an assistant communications professor who was spotted on video blocking media access to Monday afternoon protests at the University of Missouri, issued an apology on Tuesday and resigned from her courtesy appointment with the School of Journalism. "I have reviewed and reflected upon the video of me that is circulating and have written this statement to offer both apology and context for my actions," Click wrote. "From this experience, I have learned about humanity and humility." She was seen requesting "muscle" to remove freelance photographer Mark Schierbecker, who filmed the interaction and posted it to YouTube. Her voluntary resignation from the department's appointment reportedly came while the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism voted on whether to revoke it.
