The piano that appeared mysteriously on a sandbar in the Biscayne Bay was a movie prop dumped there by teenagers after a New Year’s Eve party. The prop had, apparently, been sitting in the garage of the mother of Burn Notice production designer J. Mark Harrington when his son, Nicholas, decided to put it on the sandbar and film a promotional video to include in his college applications. Nicholas claims that before he could make the video, his peers pressured him into lighting the piano on fire at a New Year’s Eve Party. The next day, Nicholas, his father, and some friends put the piano on a boat, took it to the sandbar, and lit it on fire again. Harrington hopes to study at Cooper Union.
