NBA players bashing owners over the cancellation of the season’s first two weeks aren’t without blame, writes Royce Young at CBS Sports. After owners were unable settle on a deal that would split revenue between themselves and the players, the players took to Twitter. They started an impassioned “Let us play!” campaign, bashing owners for the food-service, security, and small-business jobs that have been lost because of the lockout. Anger over the owners’ unfair proposition is reasonable, but if all the athletes really care about is being able to play, as they claim, the millionaire players could quickly get back on the court with a few thousand dollars less in their bank accounts. “You really want to put these ticket takers and security guards you supposedly feel so awful for back to work?” Young asks. “Prove it. Make a deal.”
