Newly crowned Miss Iowa Nicole Kelly grew up having to overcome the obstacles that came along with having a disability. And now that she has a platform, Kelly, who was born without a left forearm, wants to help others overcome their disabilities. A theater student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Kelly will compete at the Miss American Pageant later this year and has plans to work on Broadway. Kelly is the 72nd woman to be crowned Miss Iowa.
