Scientists have discovered a breakthrough for the one in three American men ages 18 to 59 who suffer from premature ejaculation, “generally defined as ejaculation that occurs within a minute after insertion of the penis into the vagina, causing distress to both parties." The solution? Just spray and go. Initial trials of a spray-on anesthetic showed a nearly five-fold increase in stamina. Previous treatments have included antidepressant-like drugs, which were nixed by the Food and Drug Administration because of their side effects. And unlike some cream treatments, which require 45 minutes advanced application and the use of a condom, the spray anesthetic can be applied with as little as five minutes notice, and don’t numb the partner. When men used the spray, they increased their average length of intercourse to 2.6 minutes.
