Newsweek’s Twitter account was hacked Tuesday by a pro-ISIS group that calls itself the Cyber Caliphate. The hack lasted for about 30 minutes, enough time for the group to change the photo and background of the Twitter account to a masked face with the words “Je Suis IS.” The tweets included images of documents from the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy, as well as one that appears to be from the U.S. Army, titled “Concept of Operations for Open Source Information and Social Media Analysis, The Gist Mill Pilot Project.” Brian Ries, who is a former Newsweek and Daily Beast staffer, tweeted the FBI warned the news organization about its security practices in May 2013.
