In the Usenet newsgroup alt. baldspot, the chrome-domed--and those on their way--are dealing with their loss, sharing experiences with various treatments, even ranking the worst celebrity hairpieces. Resident guru Peter Proctor, a pharmacologist from Houston who dispenses advice online, says, "We know a lot more about what causes baldness than we used to, and people want to talk about it.
