For future co-eds in search of sun sans humidity, or with a penchant for beach sports, Newsweek found the schools that offer the best chance for clear skies.
Methodology:To find the campuses blessed with the best weather, we ranked schools based on the average number of predominantly sunny days and days with precipitation of more than .01 inch. As well, we factored in the relative comfort index, a measure of afternoon temperature and humidity according to Sperling’s Best Places. All factors were weighted equally. In instances where several schools in a single locale ranked, ties were broken by the schools with the higher academic achievement, as measured by average SAT and/or ACT scores according National Center for Educational Statistics.
