On the campaign trail, Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama has preached unity, consensus and hope. Visiting Texas in late June and Iowa over the 4th of July, Obama drew big crowds, as his staff announced another quarter of fundraising success. In Iowa, Obama shifted away from speeches, and in at least one location shyed away from questions, saying he would 'rather spend my time shaking hands [and] kissing babies.' Photographer Charles Ommanney follows Obama on his summer campaign tour.
