On his latest (and most likely last) African tour, President Bush promoted multi-billion dollar anti-malaria and anti-AIDS projects and pushed for peace in Kenya and Darfur. Meanwhile last week, Tanzanian women wore whimsical dresses featuring his image and Liberian radio played a song thanking him for backing the peace process there. All the while--in Benin, Rwanda and Ghana as well as Tanzania and Liberia--photographer Charles Ommanney, on assignment for NEWSWEEK, snapped pictures.
